| When the GOLF 20/20 Junior Initiative decided to build a "Junior Golf" website and database, a Junior Task Force was established to oversee its development and progress. The following golf organizations highlighted in this section have contributed to this endeavor. Each of them has had a specific role in nurturing junior golf to date and those initiatives are addressed within this reference section. | The United States Golf Association works to make the game of golf affordable and accessible. Since 1997, the grants initiative has traditionally focused on programming for economically disadvantaged kids and individuals with disabilities. The USGA Executive Committee has extended this grants initiative to the end of the decade, bringing total anticipated USGA support to $65 million to provide financial support and assistance to deserving golf programs. Beyond its Grants Initiative, the USGA partners with national organizations to promote affordable and accessible facility development, course access, girls' golf, and initiatives for individuals with disabilities. |

| The mission of this initiative is to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. The First Tee is meeting this goal through the development of affordable and accessible facilities. Announced in November of 1997, The First Tee is overseen and has the active support of a committee comprised of the commissioners of the PGA TOUR and the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the chief executive officer of the Professional Golfers' Association of America, a past president of the United States Golf Association and the general manager of Augusta National Golf Club. | Hook A Kid On Golf, a program of the National Alliance for Youth Sports, is the largest and most comprehensive junior golf program in the country and has benefited more than 48,000 participants in over 500 communities. Established in 1990, the program focuses on providing communities with a junior golf program that eliminates the obstacles that discourage youngsters from learning and continuing to play golf while instilling in them an understanding of golf's rules, etiquette and history. The program is comprised of three levels the Tee Level Introductory Clinic, Green Level Training Program and Challenge Golf League. Hook A Kid On Golf also hosts a junior golf event, the Traditions of Golf Challenge which combines a team's playing score with rules, etiquette and history knowledge. Hook A Kid On Golf also offers programming for 5-7 year olds and their parents through the Start Smart Golf program. |

| If you are looking to introduce your son or daughter to the game, The PGA of America and its 28,000 men and women professionals is your all-in-one resource. PGA Professionals work with an estimated 600,000 junior golfers each year at thousands of facilities nationwide. PGA Professionals utilize programs such as First Swing and the PGA Junior Medalist to introduce the game and build the skills of young people of all abilities. | The LPGA supports junior golf through a variety of initiatives including the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program (Girls Golf), the LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program, and The First Tee. Girls Golf is a developmental program that encourages girls ages 7-17 to learn to play golf, build friendships and sample competition in a positive and fun environment. It is a program of The LPGA Foundation and the United States Golf Association (USGA) and is administered from LPGA headquarters. The LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program, also operated by the LPGA Foundation, is a year-long, community-based risk prevention program geared to boys and girls ages 7-17 who reside in urban communities and who may not otherwise have the opportunity to play golf. The LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program is now located in four metropolitan areas in the United States and is managed by the following LPGA tournaments, organizations or programs: Los Angeles - L.A. Junior Chamber of Commerce; Detroit- The First Tee Michigan; Wilmington, Del.- McDonald's LPGA Championship; and Atlantic City, N.J. - ShopRite LPGA Classic. | The PGA TOUR, which oversees more than 120 tournaments each year on the PGA TOUR, SENIOR PGA TOUR and developmental tour, has long been an avid supporter of junior golf. In recent years that focus has concentrated on The First Tee program, which the PGA TOUR was instrumental in forming and which it continues to support financially and structurally. The TOUR's entire network of Tournament Players Clubs conducts junior golf programs. Many of the tournaments overseen by the TOUR hold junior clinics during the event. Many of these clinics feature professional golfers and reach out to local junior golf programs. And of course a great deal of the nearly $80 million generated for charity each year by PGA TOUR-sanctioned events goes to support youth initiatives, including junior golf. |

| The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The AJGA conducts national junior golf tournaments throughout the United States and has a membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 5,000 junior golfers from 50 states and 30 foreign countries. AJGA tournaments are typically 36- or 54-hole stroke play events featuring boys and girls competing separately in open age divisions. More than 160 AJGA alumni play on the PGA and LPGA Tours and have earned more than 280 Tour victories. Seventeen of past 22 NCAA Division I men's champions and 19 of past 22 NCAA Division I women's champions are AJGA alumni. | GCSAA is the professional association for the men and women who manage and maintain the game's most valuable resource -- the golf course. | The International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA) is a body of golf administrators representing amateur golf associations from around the world. The IAGA was formed in 1968 to promote and conserve the best interests and the true spirit of the game of golf. With those pursuits in mind, the IAGA serves as a medium for golf administrators to exchange information, techniques and other data relating to the game of golf and establish channels of communication among all of the world's golfing fraternities. The associations themselves offer guidance, educational opportunities and direction for those juniors interested in the game. | The Golf Range Association of America (GRAA) is a trade association aimed at owners, operators and teaching professionals involved with GOLF RANGES (golf learning centers, domes and indoor) and SHORT COURSES (Executive, 9-hole and Par 3). The GRAA and its publication, Golf Range Magazine were founded in 1992. The GRAA provides a forum for its members to exchange "Best Practices" relating to all aspects of operations. A focus on publicizing junior programs and instruction through Golf Range Magazine, www.GolfRange.org and its annual meeting at the PGA Merchandise Show has played a large role. Through the GRAA Education Foundation, Inc., the GRAA pioneered the Leading Edge/Nickelodeon Swing 'n Golf initiative using SpongeBob. New for 2005 is a relationship with Total Golf Adventures (TGA) and their "At School-After School" junior golf programs.

It was founded in 1972, and its members represent all segments of the golf course construction industry. It is the only organization in the world organized by and for golf course builders. The Association also endeavors to provide comprehensive programs and services to construction contractors and specialists in regard to the changing regulations and technology of golf course construction. The GCBAA has organized a number of programs including the Professional Certification Program for its members, the GCBAA Foundation and the Sticks for Kids Program. The GCBAA is a founding member of the Allied Associations of Golf and continues to work closely with other associations to strengthen the integrity of the golf industry.
