designed for non-profit golf
programs. This guide, written by
former USGA Fellow Kyle Garry
as a part of his third-year in the
Fellowship program, is a
comprehensive look at
fundraising, from the Annual Fund
to the Capital Campaign. We
hope that you find the guide
useful in your endeavors and
would certainly appreciate any

Advancement-Through-Golf
program to extend the sport of
golf, its disciplines and cultural
opportunities in order to enrich
and broaden the lives of a
segment of society. Specifically,
the Foundation seeks to support
the most worthy efforts which
utilize golf to: *benefit
disadvantaged and handicap
persons *help prevent man from
perpetrating crime or injury upon
others *
encourage youth participation in
positive activities and
*contribute to the development
of skills and respectful conduct in
sports, appreciation of the arts
and refinement of manners, taste
and thought. |

"For the Good of the Game" Grants Initiative
|

| The USGA offers
financial support to non-profit
organizations that share our
belief that participating in the
game of golf can enhance
people’s lives. The “For the Good
of the Game” Grants Program
has
supported:
* Golf programs for economically
disadvantaged youth
* Golf programs for individuals
with disabilities
* Programs focused on
introducing youth to golf through
caddying and other work-based
programs
*The development of affordable
and accessible beginner-friendly
golf facilities. |
Typically applications are reviewed in January, April and October, with deadlines posted 3- 4 months out. Grant applications can be requested by contacting the Grants office at:

"Growth of the Game" Grants Initiative
|
| The PGA Foundation. |
| The PGA Foundation reviews
proposals that will introduce golf
to juniors, girls, women, minorities
(including all ethnic groups) and
people with disabilities. The PGA
is also interested in supporting
golf programs within colleges and
universities which introduce the
game and to enhance the skills of
current players during their
collegiate years. A special
emphasis will be placed on the
nation’s historically black colleges
and universities. Each program
must advocate the core values to
those who participate. Propsals
must be submitted by PGA
Sections or an active PGA
member.
Grant seekers are encouraged to
call the Foundation's Grant
Program Manager to discuss the
proposed project. Grants are
reviewed twice a year, in April
and November, respectively
deadlines for proposals are due in
March and September. |
